I get what the competition is with most reality shows!. Hell's Kitchen = best chef under pressure!. American Idol = next major recording artist!. America's Best Dance Crew!.!.!. speaks for itself!.
I don't get what the models in that show are being evaluated on! Is it their posturing!? Their facial expressions!? I don't understand why it's such a high-pressure competition, and how they're out-ranking one another!.!.!. it makes no sense to me!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The modeling is based on a perspective of a top model!. The models work on different aspects of being a model; photo shoots, runway, commercial versus couture distinction, being a spokesperson while remaining cool, composed and charismatic!.
For the twelve weeks that they are under Tyra's wing, they have to show progression of character and model quality!. They have to improve their walks, give great photos that depict the theme, and be the CoverGirl commercial spokesperson!.
Of course posturing is part of it, but I think they are looking for the perfect moldable, blank canvas that can do it all!. Be clean, fresh and commercial or a high fashion Spanish Vogue type!.
The pressure comes from the title and prize, which is hefty and can ensue a wonderful money making career if they want it!. However, some of these girls are naive and don't know what that actually means and let emotions get in the way and screw it up!.

It does always seem a bit random, but the show is trying to get across the point that modelling is about a whole lot more than just how you look!.
The girls have to be able to pose well, and crucially to take direction and create a shot that looks great and is true to the brief of that week's shoot!. They have to show versatility!. Their attitude is also important - if they are moody or unenthusiastic then they are likely to get booted out!.
However, in reality there are other factors which come into play!. The producers and judges will have a good idea of who they want in their final three from early on in the series!.

there is really no way they do it to be honest!. i get forced to watch this with my girlfriend!. what I think they go on is pure marketability!. and also who is the most consistent on having good posture and picture taken ability's!. The judges obviously don't go on pure looks because some of the runway models out there look sick!. and i just don't find attractive!. i think for that competition you have to be very well rounded in all areas!.!. and with models they are always wanting a new face!. when i say that its a look or a persauna that the person brings to the table!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
