No one really knows why Shannen left Charmed!. She either left or was fired from Charmed, but it isn't actually known which is true!. As the public, we can only speculate about what happened!.
Apparently as rumours have it, Shannen left Charmed in 2001, after three years of being on the show!. She asked to be let out of her contract supposedly because of not getting along with Alyssa Milano (Phoebe)!.

She and Alyssa Milano weren't getting along, so Alyssa went to Aaron Spelling and said "it's her or me!." Spelling gave into the ultimatum and fired Shannen!. The whole series went downhill from there -- I heard a lot of the crew didn't like the decision, and left when Shannen did!. A lot of the reason Shannen's supposedly hard to work with is that she's kind of a perfectionist, so she always wanted each script and each scene to be the best that it could be, whereas Alyssa was content to just say her lines and go home!.
