Is there any evidence that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was partially in!

Question: Is there any evidence that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was partially inspired by "The Lost Boys!?"
I am just watching Lost Boys after many years and post-Buffy, and I realize that the vampires in this setting are very similar to Buffy-save for the flying!. Would any demon officianados weigh in!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
It's possible - the Buffy movie came out after Lost Boys, so there could've been some inspiration there!. However, I've read that Whedon's main idea for Buffy was to take a classic horror movie victim - the blond cheerleader - and turn her into the hero, where the usual hero types either needed rescue, or were the bad guys!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No, but every vampire movie has their own spin on the vampire character!.

Case in point:

Bram Stoker's Dracula the vampires can shape change, while other vampires in other movies and TV shows can't!.

Interview With A Vampire - vampires are NOT affected by holy objects, wooden stakes, but they cannot shape change!. They can fly and can be hurt by fire and killed by the sun rays!. They have various mind powers!.

Lost Boys - garlic, holy objects, sun rays and wooden stakes hurt and can kill them!. They can fly, but they can't change shape!.

Buffy - has some of the weakest vampires I have ever seen anywhere!.

Kindred the Embrace - various powers and abilities!. See wikipedia for World of Darkness for more info!.

Underworld - second weakest vampires around!. They use guns for pity's sake, they can't fly (except for Markus), they can't shape change, and they're not that tough!.

Blade - vampires here are the 3rd weakest vampires I have seen!. They can't shape change, they don't have mind powers, silver hurts them (which makes absolutely no sense since silver only affects werewolves, so I don't know WHERE they got that idea from), and they walk around in daylight with sun block!? WTF!?

John Carpenter's Vampires - a little tougher than the vampires from Blade, but not by much!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I loved Buffy and I have all the DVD with the behind the scenes stuff and Joss weadon never mentioned that I remember anything about lost boys being and inspiration!. There are allot of vampire movies and different material so tend to think that all the writers and creators take a little inspiration from one another!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
