Because he had made the deal with Ben that he's getting off the island!. He was no longer being held captive by the others so he was making the best of his time there!. also it was a good scene for Kate and company to see when they arrived to show that Kate shouldn't of come back for Jack like he told her!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Because he was going to be let off the island that night so he was happy to be going home and also Tom had always been nice to him and when Jack goes to talk to Kate after they get caught Tom warns Jack that the others have the room tapped so they must have become friendsWww@Enter-QA@Com
