I do remember watching a TV series about ten years ago starring Kyle Chandler and Kristy Swanson about a guy who got tomorrow's newspaper today, and always had the chance to change one thing in the paper, and sometimes he had to make a choice of one thing over the other!. It was called "EARLY EDITION"!. I do remember there being a storyline about the main character being blinded after an attempt to save someone, but he wasn't blind throughout the entire series, just a particular story arc!.

I know the one your talking about and I don' t think it's Early Edition, that is from the 90's there is an ABC show about an investigator that is like almost Psycic or something and it helps him solve the case!.
