This episode had James Van der Beek guest starring as a boyfriend Robin had in high school who dumped her and he was coming to visit her in New York, and he was a total loser, but Robin acted just like she did in high school whenever he was around and decided that she wanted to go back out with him again!. The boyfriend tells the gang that he guest starred in her music video and Barney says "I have seen 'Let's Go to the Mall' a thousand times and you weren't in it" and he says "the other video!.!." and so Barney goes on a quest to find the other Robin Sparkles video!.
also, they talk about "Revertigo"- how when you get around a friend from high school, you start to act just like them!. They have a friend of Lily's come in and Lily does it and it's pretty funny!.

The guy breaks up with Robin, for the same girl that he broke up with her in high school!.
Robin ends up crying over this, and Barney consoles her!.!.!. she takes him back to her apartment to show him the video!. They watch it over and over again and eventually they end up making out!. That's how it ends!.
