Question: I heard that American idol may allow David Cook to go home for a week to spend time with his brother (because his brother has cancer and is not doing so weel), is this true??? thx :D

They said they are allowing him to but he may not do so. He wants to stay and preform but there not sure what he is going to decide to do.
I feel bad.
I also heard another reason he hasn't made talk about it was because he doesn't want to receive sympathy votes. I think that is soooo sweet. I love him!!!!

i kind of doubt it. they are trying to teach the idols that they need to sacrafice a lot for their careers. like with brooke white, missing her sister's wedding? they didnt let her go home! plus, since the compition is getting towards the end, and it is getting so intense, i doubt they would let him go.
i think it would be a great idea! poor cookie, he must feel like crap. it must be tearing him up.

i am sure he could go home to see his brother but i think they would just disqualify him if he left i dont think they would make special arrangements for just one person.i would like to send my regard to him on his brother being sick ,but if he leaves he should be disqualified
Sorry, Maya, but someone on their death bed hardly compares to missing a wedding. Brooke will have her chance to deliver 'many happy returns' after the competition. The producers NOT letting David go to see his brother if he's about to die? Do you REALLY think AI wants that kind of publicity getting out? Be serious. I don't think they'd let David go M.I.A. for a whole week, but trust me - he WOULD get his chance to go home. In fact (and this is a terrible thing to say, but true) they might send a camera crew with him...

i doubt that they would let him leave for an entire week but im sure they would give some time (maybe on a day that they arent doing the show) to go see him.

I am sure they will let him go. But not spend the whole week. If he doesnt perform, he is disqualified. It's unfortunate, but thats life.
i havent herd of that.... well isint brookes sisters wedding today too?(saturday) i wonder if they let her go home for the weekend... but i dont know..
