How much do they compensate people going onto courtroom television shows?!

Question: I always see in the small print at the end of a show that both the plaintiff and the defendant are compensated with money for being there. I've always wanted to know how much! Help?
Thanks,
~~Ali. :)

They have an amount (usually approx. 5 thousand)If the Plaintiff is suing for 3 thousand and wins their case they get the 3 thousand and the remainder is split between the two parties. Which means the plaintiff receives 4 thousand and the defendant 1 thousand.

The small claims maximum. It's usually 5,000 dollars.

I know some one who works on Judge Judy courtcases and they pay out between $3000-$25000 depending on the size of the case.

I have a friend that was on Judge Judy. He was being sued by his ex. The only thing he received was a plane ride, motel and shuttle service to the studio.

He won the case but not his counter claim.

It was my understanding had he or the ex won, the show would have paid the amount asked for.

if you lose they pay
