Is South Park the cleverest show on TV?!
Question: yes it is incredibly crude. however the messages and points of view in the underlying themes are very well grounded. Stan and Kyle usually have something insightfull to say at the end of the episodes. The puns on Al Gore and the government are always funny but show you the stupid side of what goes on in real life.

You could say south park is a rather funny imitation of real life.
yep it makes me laugh AND points out the flaws of our society... how rare is it that a show like that comes along? South Park is awesome.
The part that kills me is how fast they can get an episode written, produced and on the air. When there was the Easter morning "rescue" of that Gonzalez kid in Florida years ago, by Wednesday night they had a parody on the air that was a riot (Janet Reno in a Easter Bunny suit and all). They have nailed just about everyone in and out of power. Every religion, every political party, everyone in Hollywood, is fair game. Definitely one of the best shows on TV.
Simpsons are better. Lot less crude and more fun. Lots of celebs and hidden points of view for the and adults. I hate South Park. It is a cheap, crude show. No wonder that they only air on SBS here late at night! S. G.C. Aust.
I don't really watch South Park anymore, but my brother does, and I have to say the Scientology and World of Warcraft episodes were pretty smart...cos they were true lol. But I personally think Arrested Development is one of the smartest shows......although it's not on TV anymore : ( So I guess I might let South Park have this one. The British Office was smart too....the US one isn't as smart...but I still love it.
South Park is clever but Arrested Development beats it out.
I totally agree with you. Their episodes points out insightful messages behind social issues that we, people, sometimes do not notice

To tell you the truth I actually thing the same think. All people see how stupid the government can be, but South Park makes it more obvious.
