Would you tell a friend who is trying out for American Idol that they can't !

Question: Let 'em sing, Simon will say what you may be afraid to say.

Answers: Let 'em sing, Simon will say what you may be afraid to say.

I'd let them try out, its something some people jut want to do. and they'll tell your friend if there good or not.

let him/her go so that he/she will feel that you are supporting..

Let them do it. They'll learn more quickly that way.

Well if you tell them, you will have a friend mad at you.

Let the judges tell them, the reality will hit them

Yes

dont tel them hahaha its more fun for all of us sitting at home

Id tell them the truth so they dont embarrass themselves on television or at least in front of the judges. I think he or she would rather their own friend tell them rather than them, especially if they have to make a big trip that costs money, you dont want them wasting their time. Do what a friend is supposed to do and be honest!

Let them try, it might be funny or you never know maybe they will surprise you.

Let them be...Because even if you tell them, they won't believe you or even worse, they'll think you're jealous of their special "talent"..let them learn the hard way..if they're bad, they won't get through the audition..plus,if they appear on TV,they'll see how terrible they sound..and that they're making fools of themselves..

if they were close to me then hell yeah i would tell them. i wouldnt let no friend of mine look ridiculous. now if it were someone that i wasn't really good friends with then, sure go on the show. I will sit at home and laugh. lol is that mean? lol

Some people audition for the attention and publicity, but if she was sincere, I'd let her know!!

That depends. The most important question is: if you tell them, will they listen to you? Are they ready to hear the truth from you? As everybody else said, if they are convinced that they have a "special talent", they might take it wrong if you tell them the truth and think that you are just trying to sabotage their dream because of jealousy. If that's the case, the best thing you can do for him/her is to let them try out and see what happens.

So many people audition and most of them never even get as far as seeing the judges. As you know, for that to happen the people have to be really, really good or extraordinarily BAD. If your friend fits into neither category, they will probably never see Simon, Paula and Randy. Which takes you off the hook. You can still be there as a supportive friend to them, which you should be. But they will need you even more if they make it before the judges and wind up in the "Hall of Shame."

oh just let them be.. but if thats your sister,, i'd probably tell her

I'd let them try out. The worse that could happen is that they don't make it to Hollywood.

I would tell them that they can't sing. You might as well, or the whole world will tell them after they audtion. I mean, what humiliation!!!

Or on the other hand... I wouldn't if they had made me mad in the past week, and I wanted revenge...

I whould tell the friend they cant sing because if they hear it from a friend they wont have to go up in front of the judges and get enbarrassed.
