AJ is his biological father.... I have asked this before to, here is the back stories I got....
A.J Quartermaine is the real father Jason Morgan pretended to be the paternal father, but Michael's adoptive father is Sonny
His biological father was AJ Quartermaine, Jason's half brother. Carly allowed Sonny to adopt him around the time of their first or second marriage to each other.

Carly was afraid that the Quartermaines would try to take Michael from her so she got Sonny to act like his father to protect him. Sonny got AJ to sign over custody by hanging him in some warehouse and threatening to kill him unless he signed the papers giving up all rights to Michael.
Michael's biological father was A.J. Quartermaine (Alan Quartermaine Jr.). Carly got Sonny to scare AJ into signing over all parental rights to the child.
No! Sonny is not Michael's biological father. He is only his adopted father. His biological father is a.j. quarter main. He is Alla and Monica's grandson. A.J. died in the year of 2007. But he is really Michael father. Sonny forced and stripped a.j. of his parental rights of Michael Michael never really knew his real father very much. Because through the years - carly and sonny kept a.j. away from his son. So Michael never really knew him. But - he did know that sonny was his adopted father.
A.J. Quartermaine is Michaels daddy. Carly fought like hell to keep him away from the boy.

AJ Quartermaine, Jason's brother. Carly had a one night stand and when she wanted him out of the boys life, Sonny hung him up on a meat hook and poured booze down his throat until he gave up his rights.
AJ Quartermaine is Michael's real father. At the time, AJ was drunk and didn't even remember having sex with her until quite a long time later. For reasons I'm not even sure about, Carly didn't want AJ to know he was the dad...he was actually turning his life around and had quit drinking. She told everyone that Jason was Michael's father, and for the first year of Michael's life, Jason was his dad in every way. In fact, he raised Michael without Carly for awhile. Carly had post partum depression (the excuse they used later) and actually left Michael for several months after he was born, so Jason was the sole parent. Eventually, events led to AJ finding out he was the father, and Jason took at step back out of Michael's life, and Sonny eventually stepped in. Unfortunately, AJ was portrayed as the bad guy during this storyline, and Michael was essentially cut out of his life through threats and blackmail.
Sonny is Michael's father! AJ was a sperm donor at best! A father is the one who provides and loves you--that's Sonny.
