GH fans, do you blame Sonny for Michael's shooting?!

Answers: Wasn't he,for once, trying to do the right thing? He was trying to bond with his son and show him a good time

No! Sonny was trying to do the right thing by Michael. By showing him that he doesn't have to have to live his entire life around the violence. Plus - sonny didn't want that kind of life for Michael either. So - sonny was trying show him the different side to his business. That was why he cut back on the guards and why he didn't want Jason to be any guards around the warehouse either. The one i blame for this is Claudia and Ian. She lied to sonny. She said she wanted peace. All she cared about is bring Ian illegal drugs into port Charles. Where is Robert when you really need him. When he was police commissioner no one could even get into port Charles when Robert was around. Because the cops weren't idiots at the time. They were always one jump ahead of the bad dudes.

He shouldn't have had him down at the waterfront, the most dangerous part of town. His motives were pure, but he didn't show good judgement.

Yes. He shouldn't have assumed that just because he was doing legit business the kid would be safe.

Although his intentions were good, he was indeed acting carelessly. Many things have happened in the past, especially when guards are not around. His life is dangerous. This is never going to go away. Yes, they had a good time, but it was not necessary. More family bonding and exposing Michael to other things would be nice. However, this is his job, but Micheal knows the truth. I don't know what a difference this would have made. I do blame Sonny for being in this life, and he is the one who can't stay away from his kids, he would never try to do so.

The "right thing" would be to get his children as far from him as possible so that this wouldn't have had the chance to happen. He chooses to continue living a life of crime, he knows that this puts his life and lives of those around him in constant danger, and yet he insists on continuing to play daddy despite the obvious damage it does to his kids.

No It's not his fault he was trying to show his son that guns weren't the answer and that legal business was!

Well, if he wasn't in the mob noone would have reason to be shooting at him. So yeah he is to blame, The kid would have been much safer staying a Quartermaine and I think maybe Carly will realize that now!

yep i blame him. he went over carly's head again and neglected to talk to her about her son. carly wouldnt have let micheal go with kate. and if jason hadnt stopped her should would have gone to get her son...so i blame both sonny and jason.

Sonny was trying to do the right thing and he had good intentions but he didn't show good judgment. I don't think he should have had Michael down by the waterfront, it's dangerous. So in a way it was his fault, he had no right to blame Jason.

I love Sonny but in this case, yes I blame Sonny for Michael's gunshot injury. Although his intentions were good; his ability to make sound decisions is questionable. Even though there was truce between the Zaccharas and Sonny; it was a poor decision to dismiss the bodyguards from protecting him and his son when he knows very well that he has many mob enemies and his dangerous mob boss lifestyle has caused many people to get either injured or killed. Its commendable that Sonny now wants to step up and make an effort to lead his son in the right direction but since Sonny has many gangster enemies he should have taken extra steps to safeguard his family whenever they are around him so as not to get hurt in the crossfire. If he doesn't want his son to embrace the gangster lifestyle then Sonny should lead by example and get out of the mob business altogether but keep the bodyguards.

Well, if he wasn't a Mob boss, these things wouldn't happen. I still love Sonny.

That's a tough one. On one hand, you're right. He was trying to do the right thing, and show his son the legitamate side of his buisness, and that he wasn't just a gangster.

On the other hand, well...he is a gangster, and he knows it. That is a matter of fact. He knows his lifestyle is dangerous, he knows that he has enemies, and yet he told all the body guards to leave and take the day off. He took his son out with him, when he knew he was unproctected.

I don't think he was deliberatly trying to put his son in harm's way. I have never doubted Sonny's love for his kids, and he would never purposely put them in danger. But...I think he was careless. I think he's been in denial for many years about how dangerous his life is, b/c if he did face reality, he would have to answer a lot of questions from the people and families that he has caused harm to.

So, even though I don't hold him responsible for the actual shooting (since the only one you can blame for that is Ian, the guy who pulled the trigger), I do think he is responsible for what has happened to his son and family. Perhaps it's karma? For all the lives and families he's destroyed, maybe this is payback for those sins, as now his family will be destroyed as well.

yes he was trying to do the right thing but then again if he was not there he would not be in gh on his death bed so i kind of do blame him but i also feel for sonny and carly and was crying like a baby i feel really sad for jason cause he was therefor him when he was frist born and all.

No, I don't blame Sonny. I agree he was trying to bond with him. There was supposedly a truce, so what was there to worry about.

Overall, when the truth comes out, Kate will be the blame because she talked Sonny into taking him there. She was only trying to help too.

I don't think that Carly will forgive either of them.

yessss

most of the time bad things happen with the best of intentions, everyone is to blame not just Sonny, Jason and Carly too.
