Did Big Shots and Private Practice officially get cancelled?!
Question: Private Practice has been renewed for a second season, but will not be returning to top off this first season as a rsult of the WGA strike. It will be returning in the fall with all new episodes. No season premier date has been set yet but you can expect that come the May upfronts. The network felt it to be more cost effective to hold off the return of Private Practice until the new fall 08-09 TV season.
Regarding Big Shots - Check your own sources Pipi, Big Shots is not coming back. There's absolutely no hope of the show coming back as well considering the terrible ratings the show received week to week since its premier and, worse, week to week when it redebuted during the WGA Strike with absolutely no competition in its time slot (if I remember correctly it bowed out at about mid-low 6 million viewers which is paltry). There's no justifiable reason why ABC would hold on to this show.

Edit---Just a note to Phil...The last time I had checked on my favorite shows, they were all returning, so excuse me for being wrong since Big Shots was cancelled after that time.
I fully expected it to come back since that was the last information I read.
I heard that Private Practice isn't finishing this season but it will start up again next season in the fall.
