What percentage of reality shows do you think are scripted?!

99% scripted
the Hills is my FAV show -- but i think its a show that is set up to look like a reality show... so it has a reality feel to it ... but it is scripted -- has to be or else it would be soooo boring ... no ones life is really that dramatic all the time
All of em. There's Wife Swap and Supernanny, for examples.

All of them. Even Jon and Kate Plus Eight seem rehearsed. And they are all getting really stupid too.

I suspect that "scripted" is probably the wrong word for most of them. There's just too much danger of losing an audience for a reality show if the viewers found out that the show was scripted. And the "secret" would never be kept by the contestants. No matter what they signed, somebody would talk. It's human nature.
I think what happens is that they shoot dozens of hours for each 1 hour episode. So when the final footage is assembled, it seems like too much action and excitement to be real. Another thing to consider is that when people know they're being captured on video, they often do things they wouldn't normally do and that adds to the "scripted" look.
So I don't think what we're seeing is "real" by any means. It's an edited version of reality.
Some reality shows are in a way. Like the bacholar if they are not talking the cameras will stop and they will tell them to talk about something. Also one show has to be culled from hundreds of hours of tapes, so it is up the to the "writer" to structure a story out of this mishmash. Nothings really writen down for the people to read. It depends on what the people behind the cameras tell them to do. So the people on the shows actions are influenced by the people behind the the camera. So with that i would say that they are all scripted just not in the way we would think.
