Ross said that to Mona and then Mona replied "and I love spending time with you"
This annoyed Ross as earlier in the episode he was talking to the others + said he didnt know if he loved her + didnt want to send a holiday card with her. But wanted to show her the relationship was moving forward.
He said he coud tell Mona; "I love spending time with you"
which Monica replied they women hated it and it was a slap in the face.
