They didn't really develop their relationship until they had a relationship. Basically Cameron decided in episode 3x14 Insensitive that she wanted a f***-buddy and that she could easily have that with Chase without a chance of either of them falling in love with each other.

Then, in 3x15 Half-Wit, House catches that Chase and Cameron showered together.

At the end of that episode, Foreman jokes that House (after getting "good" news) should be "making out with Cameron" and Chase shoots a jealous look, so apparently he's already thinking it's serious.

During the next episode 3x16 Top Secret, we see Cameron and Chase having sex on an empty bed while monitoring a sleep test.

They again have sex on the job in the next episode 3x17 Airborne. At the end of the episode, Chase declares that he has feelings for Cameron and wants the relationship to be more. Cameron says she doesn't and breaks off the relationship.

The next few episodes have some fighting and some discussion with Foreman over the relationship. Plus, Chase decides to tell Cameron once a week that he still loves her and would like a relationship with her. It eventually works, and in the season finale 3x24 Human Error, Cameron goes to Chase and says that she feels the same way.

They've been in a real relationship since, as far as I can tell (at least they haven't said anything about breaking up again), but as the focus is off of them and onto the newbies, there isn't much dealing with the relationship at all and I cannot guarantee that they didn't break up again.
Thus, I'd personally say that their relationship started in 3x14 Insensitive and their serious relationship started in 3x24 Human Error.
Oh yea, once when she was stoned, then in the janitors room at the hospital, then once when they were doing a sleep study on an ex marine, then they broke up because Chase wanted a deeper relationship and Cameron didn't.
yeah, they did. like bunnies. cameron broke it off, ( she was looking for a good time and chase wanted a real relationship). i don't know about the new season.
