You can't just "be yourself" to get on a show like SURVIVOR. You have to be more than that. You have to be unique, almost OUTRAGEOUS! You have to have a personality that will "make good television," otherwise you will try for five more years and STILL not get on. For examples, either go to the CBS.com website, find the SURVIVOR page and locate the audition clips for examples of how other contestants did theirs. And I think some of the other older clips might be posted on YouTube. Do a search for them using the keywords "Survivor audition tapes."
Keep trying! Hope you get it one of these days. I think the key is to have a unique video that shows why you would be interesting to WATCH on the show. Go to YouTube and watch some of the application videos for other people that made it onto the show to get some ideas.
