Who thinks LOST has gone downhill?!

Question: I do, I do! *waves hand madly*

First, who the HECK are the new peeps? I don't know a single name! I can't remember when they popped up! I'm pretty sure that five new people arrives in every episode, magically. Plus I'm forgetting the old people's names too. The bold guy, the still getting fatter but should be starving guy, the damn love triangle freaks, the calm blonde, the other blonde with a HUGE baby, the Australian and the Torturer. Lastly is the only one who entertains.

And all that time stuff? God..

And what happened with the kiddies?

Never mind. I don't care.

I can't see this show surviving to.. 2010, was it? Haha. Good luck with that. I applaude the writers for writing the most annoying show ever created (Though 1st season was cool). It's way past half finished, and there's way too many unsolved cases to even mention! It should be some busy episodes, that's for sure, to just explain half of the stuff.

Unless there's a magical turtle, I'm not watching.

Actually, I was thinking this last year. Last season was pretty much complete crap. But I think this season has by far made up for it. I'm enjoying the new storyline with the Freighter people. I'll be in for the long haul and I won't stop watching until everything is revealed in the end. =)

Edit: Yeah, I've felt that way on occasion. Especially when they kill off my fav characters.

Obviously you were never a fan to begin with.

PS There IS a magical turtle!!

I agree with you it just same to have lost it

I most certainly don't.

I think that the new people were introduced well this year. If you could learn all of the new names in the first season, and again when they added the "tailies" in the second season, you should have no problem remembering the handful of people introduced this season.

And if you're forgetting the names of the main characters (rather than just pretending to do so) then there is no way you were at all invested in the show in the first place. I became very connected with the characters through their flashbacks and there is no way that I could forget them. I have watched and re-watched and analyzed and speculated about all of these characters so much that I feel like I know them well. Apparently you were not as drawn into the show.

Regarding the "fatter but should be starving guy" (a.k.a. Hurley), you do realize that it has only been a couple of months their time, rather than the years it has been for our time, right? Supposedly the actor has lost something like 40 pounds, which considering they've only been on the island for 90 days or so is about right.

I understand being possibly confused by the time stuff, but I've found it to be an interesting development, leading to a bunch of new theories. (And, really, if you think about it, what they've introduced so far isn't that convoluted compared to other possible theories.)

The "kiddies" were taken by the Others, presumably to the safe haven that Ben directed Alex to in the last episode. Supposedly we will find out more about what happened to them later.

I can see the show surviving (and continually being intriguing and complex and one of the best shows out there) until 2010. I would put any reality show, countless mindless comedies, silly dramas like Prison Break and CSI Miami as more annoying shows than Lost in a heartbeat.

Yes, there are lots of unsolved mysteries. That's why I enjoy it. While I have my guilty pleasure shows (like Moonlight and New Amsterdam and others) that I really enjoy, I also want to balance that with intelligent shows like Lost and Battlestar Galactica. There are times when I want to have a complex show that makes me think, that prompts me to go online to find out clues, that compels me to discuss and analyze it.

I appreciate that Lost is too much for some people, that a lot of viewers do want shows that wrap up storylines in neat packages and/or are easy to follow/require no thought. I am not one of those people. I am fully invested in the show, its stories, and its characters. I find it to be just as compelling and intriguing and "must-see" now as I did in the first season. Hopefully the core group of people that I discuss this show with continue to feel the same as I do and we can have wonderful conversations and experiences until 2010.
