How do television shows get the money they give away?!
Question: How do television shows like, Wheel of Fortune, Deal or No Deal etc.. get the money that they give away daily?
I'm just curious because sometimes it seems like an awful lot of money. Do the networks pay the show series to be on air? Or do they get it from other resources like sponsorships or something?

most of the money comes from ad revenue and some from the networks. the chance of the money to be won is slim and if they do win big money then they are subject to state taxes that they won it in and state taxes whwere they live and also prize taxes. friend won a car from price is right and was from texas. he had to pay cali state tax, texas state tax and prize tax. he ended up selling the car(it was like a ford escort or some sort of car) because his taxes where 4,000 dollars. so they aren't really winning that much
That's where sponsors come into play. They pay big time to get their products on a show. Think of the Super Bowl.
well, some of it is sponcership, like a car dealership, but omost of the money comes from ad revenue from comercials. think abvout how much money they give actors and set produces and everyone that goes into a tv show, like writers. they spend almost nothing on that except maybe the host and thats one guy.
It seems like most of the time it is sponsors who donate the prizes or money. The networks may budget something too.
