BB9 USA - Camera in bathroom???? Would you???!

Question: So when Sharon was all upset about Josh and her being put on the block since James won POV, she ran to the toilet room to cry and then Sheila went to console her.

We got to see that conversation b/c of a camera in the corner of the ceiling - EEEEWWW.

So there's no privacy at all.

I mean, they don't show that camera much, but just the fact that's it is there and someone in the control room can see it would bother me if I were a contestant in the house.

Then I think back to Ryan and Jen little 'escapade' into the bathroom before she was evicted . . . . . . so there's video of that . . . . . a little disturbing - and definitely having to trust that whatever contract you signed with CBS would be honored & very private moments in the bathroom would not be leaked out.

Knowing that someone can see EVERYTHING that you are doing 24/7 - even private moments in the bathroom - Would you still consider being a contestant? Do you think it deters some from going on the show

lol - yeah, I had the same reaction at pretty much the same moment as you ;oD

I'm not sure Ryan and Jen's intimate little moment was particularly explicit or interesting - they only seemed to be gone for minutes. But in response to the wider question about going on there knowing that there's no privacy...hellno, I wouldn't go, so I'm assuming that yes it would deter some others.

I think if you person wanted to be on the show bad enough cameras in the bathroom wouldn't bother them.

oh for sure. Ive been watching big brother the 9 years it has aired on CBS....i would soooo go on the show..i actually almost applied this last time, but it came on in February instead of the summer like it usually does....

I would do it. Why not. If you watch you watch. If you don't you don't. A camera in the bathroom is no big deal as long as stick to typical bathroom activity.

yeah i found it sorta disturbing that they had a camera in the bathroom....i mean what's the reason for doing that? are they afraid the people might do some sort of illegal activity or something in there....?

well i dont watch big brother after dark...so i wouldn't know of anything disturbing that has happened in the bathroom, and i'd rather not know either.

i want james to stay!!

I would rather die then poop on camera, just imagine changing your tampon,,,,,,nasty

I think there's something in the contract about the bathroom.
If they go in there with another person then they can be filmed, but if their going in to take care of business then they can't.
I'm fairly certain that Ryan and Jen's little session in the bathroom was probably taped but how could they show that on tv without getting into the whole porno thing. I mean, at least when they're hiding undercovers (like matty and natalie's little session) they aren't showing anything explicit and its up to the viewer to use their imagination about what's going on.
I don't know, either way, if you gotta go you gotta go. I don't think I'd think about it much after Day 1.

camera is there so that the contestants cant just hide in there and get away from the camera. but if you go in there to do your business the producers shut off the camera but if something else is going on in there they can film it.

The rule in reality TV is, if there is one person in the bathroom, then they won't film you, more than one, they will.

So, Jen and Ryans' little exhibitionist move was recorded, but maybe later deleted.

I think the camera in the toilet is on all the time. They've shown footage of people alone in there.

Those who would consider being on the show in the first place aren't the type who would get too upset by a camera in the bathroom..There is surely some sort of consideration given to such "delicate" situations...
