He's got a nice voice and he's talented for such a young person but they do get boring. I mean he could put a song out on the radio and people would love it, but they all sound the same. I get what you mean and totally agree.

Yes! He needs to mix up his song styles. Maybe do Michael Jackson like Cook did and another classic song. I love him but he sings the same tune every week, and he needs to show some versatility. He has been proving himself as someone who is not the smartest with song choice. Not Good.

It doesn't bother me any more than it bothers me that David Cook makes everything a rock song. What difference should it make if someone sings one particular type of song? I think the tone and sound of their voice should be the obvious distinction to who is better. I think he has a beautiful voice and I could care less if he sang a ballad every week until the finals. I don't get tired of hearing it.
Not only does it bother me he sings ballads all the time, the message of his songs are a bit "preachy" as Simon put it during the top 24 segment. I'd love to hear him sing something different and get out of his "comfort zone".
Geez, he's such a cute kid and he's got a GREAT voice but he's just so hardwired. Your right about the ballads, that's all he sings. He has the same "look" every week. He responds to the judges and the fans with the same sort of preprogrammed phrases every single time. I mean, you know exactly what he's gonna give you each and every week. I'm just so bored with him now.
If you notice, in the beginning everyone thought he would win it all, hands down. But now all the message boards are filled with Archuletta doubters. We all agree that his voice is beautiful but I really don't think his whole package is marketable.
My prediction...give 2-3 years and he's gonna end up doing broadway shows like all the other idols that couldn't sell records.
why get bothered?!! he sings great thats the point. an artist mostly sings the best genre he/her can handle. you don see mental band singing hard metal music this album and goes ballet on the next! they sings what they are gd at. of course if a artist is well diversified.. can nail at different genre of songs thats great and archuleta did sing a faster song last week with you'r the voice. that went pretty well, its was catchy and nice. all of his performance are gd except that song that he forgot the lyrics. he is consistent to me. if you wanna say, i think jason sings basically the same type of song every week. with the guitar except for the song michelle i think. but people still enjoys him, i do. because he singing what he;s gd at.
