American Idol tonight CARLY - APRIL 1 *spoiler*?!
Question: Hey everyone .. what do you think Simon ment about the "wardrobe" comment to Carly .. first of all, I thought she was awsome. Do you think that Simon was refering in some way to her showing her tattoo (week after week) ? Honestly, I thought she looked fine tonight, & I love that she is confotable with her self & her ink . She surly isn't ashamed of it . & she has individuality, which is laking today .

I thought he was too critical of her and her outfit choices. No, she may not have chosen to dress in a glamorous gown, but that is not Carly. I thought she looked great! She is a beautiful girl, and when it comes down to it, this is supposed to be about talent, and singing capabilities (which she has lodes of). Since when did it become a Miss America pageant? And another thing, I know Simon is a judge, not a contestant, yet he should portray a good example himself, I think. Look in the mirror Simon....'bout time for a new shirt, maybe a little better than the V-neck tee shirt you are famous for wearing regularly?
I like Carly too but I think you are blowing the tattoo out of portion.
Simon is talking about her outfit because she does dress kinda "sloppy"..."frumpy"
But she should make it far
If you look at all of the other ladies on AI, they're wearing designer dresses that really help to give the look of being a star. This morning I even saw a segment on E! about how Brooke work a specific designer's dress because it was bright and yellow and she was singing a song about sunshine. Carly's outfits tend to look like something an average everyday person would wear, and not like something an AI winner would wear (think back to Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood).
Proof AI is a farce. A teeny-bopper decided popularity contest. Nothing more. She was amazing tonight; unbelievably amazing, yet she's criticized.
i didnt think they were talking about her tattoo. i think it was because while she dresses great for an everyday person, she doesn't look as fancy like a star would look. her clothes look a bit cheap, while the other girls really seem to dress it up and look well put together.
I thought her face and hair looked the best it has yet. I thought she looked so beautiful tonight (barring the not fantastic outfit) and yes, it irritated me that they ignored her great performance to complain about her outfit.

It shouldnt matter what she looks like in my opinion she blows the socks off the other female singers and if I were her I would have ask him to practice what he preaches because he looks like a slob himself every week t-shirt after t-shirt BLAH BLAH BLAH.......................................

OMG, I felt so bad for Carly. I thought she did a fantastic job with the song. Maybe her outfit was a bit average but so what? Simon is always saying this is a "singing competition", well, then that's what he should be concerned about more than her wardrobe. I voted for Carly several times last night, not only because of her awesome performance but also to show Simon and others, there are people out there that appreciate Carly's beautiful voice and unique style more than superficial apparel.
