What happened to SNL? Do people actually watch that crap anymore?!

Question: "Saturday Night Live"
I really got into watching it in it's peak around '95 which is probably its best year. And I tried watching it a couple times since probably '01 but it is just too terrible. They don't even have funny or entertaining hosts. They try to make fun of the lame OC and politics, which have been waaay overdone. I really couldnt care less if the show was cancelled honestly. The only way they could save it would be to bring Will Farrel back. Luckily MadTV at it's peak nowadays. Do you concur?

Your so right. I use to love SNL but it got lame real quick. Such a shame because I loved the cartoon sketches of "ace and gary". At least we still have mad tv!

I always hated SNL and people find it strange I never watched them. I always saw it as stupid humor. I saw my first SNL WAY WAY after will farrel left.

I saw part of SNL when britney spears was on it. part of it. Second time was when Ashlee simpson was a guest and the backup cd played before her lips moved. That was it and all of that was from youtube.

I use to watch SNL it it's real heyday - the mid '80s with Eddie Murphy, Martin Short, and Billy Crystal. I even remember some of the re-runs with Dan Ackroyd, and John Belushi (not Jim).

And as I got older it started to get more stupid. I think it really does appeal to a very limited age group, and as people grow up, they lose interest.

I love it. You can't compare it to MADTV - they're completely different. MadTV has weeks to prepare and tape a lot of its bits. SNL must write, block, rehearse, and present everything within a week.

They're after politics lately because that's the hot button issue. They're a reflection of the times.
