They were only allowed to film season 1 due to a loophole in the Mexican laws.. That loophole has now been fixed and they cannot film season 2 as it would be classified as illegal all over the world.

There was so many problems last season, that people were complaining. This put the kids in danger.

So I don't think it's coming back.

They held auditions October of last year for the second season, but it is not yet known whether a second season of Kid Nation will ever air. According to CBS's spokesman Phil Gonzales, no final decisions have been made on [Kid Nation] for this year.
