GH..Did anyone understand Carly's explanation to Jason?!
Question: When Jason pointed out Friday that she has hated all of the women he has been with except Courtney, Carly said "do oyu know why?" Jason responded "because you have to be first in my life."
Here was the part that I didn't get. Carly said that she "needed" to be first. This makes no sense to me. Is she saying that when Jason was with Courtney that she, Carly, remained first in his life but when he was with Sam, Robin, or Liz she didn't come first? I don't understand, was she saying that Courtney wasn't as important to Jason as the others? This explanation is nonsensicle to me, but then we are dealing with Carly.

No, I don't think she meant that Courtney wasn't as important to Jason. I think she meant that when he was w/Courtney, she never felt that she needed to compete to be first in his life. B/c 1) Courtney was Sonny's sister (like you said) and 2) Courtney was also Carly's best friend, whom she loved like a sister. So she wasn't threatened by Courtney b/c she knew that Courtney understood her bond w/Jason and that Courtney wasn't threatened by it and wouldn't get in the way of it. Not only that, but if Carly did need Jason, Courtney would have wanted to help Carly too, since she and Carly were BFF's.
All the rest of the women (Liz, Sam, Robin) have all resented Carly. Mostly b/c Carly has been very nasty to all of them. But, they've all expressed, at one point or another, the fact they get jealous of Carly b/c Jason does drop everything if Carly needs him. Understandably, most of the women in his life don't like that, and make it clear to Carly that she needs to respect some boundries. Where as Carly feels that there are no boundries when it comes to her and Jason. Which, of course, puts Jason in the middle. And so he has to compromise, and find a way to make it work, and sometimes the other women get the short end of the stick, and sometimes Carly feels that she gets the short end of the stick.
With Courtney, there was never that need for Jason to compromise as much, between her and Carly, since Carly and Courtney were best friends anyway. So he was able to be there for both of them, the way that they wanted/needed w/o making the other one mad. That's why Courtney was the only woman Jason has been w/that Carly has liked.
I think Carly simply excepted Courtney because they actually got along.
since Courtney was Sonny's sister and her best friend the she still felt apart of it i guess keepin it in the family kinda thing....
It was b/c she was Sonny's sister and best friend and Courtney always let Carly throw herself into her and Jason's life, she never told her to back off.

Courtney is Sonnys sister, so it didnt matter...AND.....she let Carly run all over her! lol
