Similarities between shows moonlight and new amsterdam?!

both seem to be about non-aging good-looking men solving crimes and finding love.
I actually think that Moonlight is much more similar to Forever Knight (good looking vampires who solve crimes and who desperately want to be mortals and are looking for cures to vampirism but who are stopped by the vampires who turned them) while New Amsterdam is much more similar to Highlander (good looking immortal who most likely can only be killed by cutting off his head and who turns mortal upon finding his true love all the while helping people).
It doesn't matter to me, as I've pretty much watched all of those types of shows (Forever Knight, Angel, Moonlight, Highlander, Highlander: Raven, Touching Evil, New Amsterdam, etc.) As long as there is something in the show that differentiates it (such as how Moonlight tweaks the vampire mythology) and (more importantly) compelling characters (I like both of the leads on Moonlight and New Amsterdam), I'll watch.
Here's a similarity ... they both SUCK.
the guy from moonlight is a vampire and john on new amsterdam is immortal due to a native american curse. that's the difference i don't watch moonlight but i seen people on here talking a/b it.
