THE SIMPSONS! question!?!

Question: as many people know, the the simpsons is basically a critique of contemporary society..
for example, the character of mr. burns reveals how ruthless corporate American is. Homer shows how the "average" American is lazy and stupid...

im having trouble figuring out what hte character of MIlhouse (bart's friend) is revealing about society? the gulibility of children, perhaps?

any ideas?

Milhouse is revealing what most Americans do: follow a leader and do what they tell them to do.

i think your thinking way too into it.
the show is supposed to be stupid.

yes, gulibility of kids

uhhhhhhhhhhhhh all the nerds and losers
=D

Maybe that some people are spineless, have no personality of their own and must define themselves through association with someone "cool"?

Milhouse was named for President Nixon. Not quite relevant, but eh. He shows how one friend or person can completely dominate another person and get them to go along with whatever. That was just a total guess, I have no clue if that's what he represents. But he was named for Nixon.
