Big Brother 9... What's with all the Bible buddies, Bible Reading and Bible !
Question: Don't get me wrong now, so don't start the sermons I read my bible just like the next guy & I think readiing is great, I just have never seen Big Brother promote Bible reading so much in previous seasons. Not to mention though this season s u c k s and is so boring, I didn't like starting off with couples but it just seems there aren't as many twists as previous seasons. I still like BB & will continue to watch but if I miss an eps it's no biggie.

This is the first year I am not watching, just because I lost interest after the first few shows.
To answer your question, the Bible is the only book in the house. Imagine if you are in a house without radio or TV. You would probably read more too. Add to that the fact that these people all come from different religious backgrounds and view the Scriptures differently. The Bible makes for some good conversations and controversy.
I dont know why they "promote" bible reading, but what i do know is that they do have a lot of "downtime" and they cant go to church while they're in the house. So they read the bible instead. It also shows that they are good people deep deep down inside.
I have not seen BB since the very first BB house--Chicken George etc. so I cannot help you there. But I think that it is wonderful that a show is not ashamed to allow people to read and discuss the Bible on the air.
I do not watch the show so I can not say. We are facing changes as the years progress and free will and choice will have a bearing of our destiny.
Many years have gone by where God was placed second over the almighty dollar and now that is beginning to fail, due in part to mismanagement by all parties.
There seems to be an awakening on various levels where the importance of faith is being renewed... so I think this is a good thing as man seems to have taken for granted so much about life...
are they allowed to read other books, that might be their last option. but i know what you mean, sharon was talking about it tonight, and i think that just about everyone has been shown reading the bible.
Well in the BB house they're not allowed to do anything- they cant watch tv, listen to music, read other books, or anything. I think they all just read the bible so much partly because they dont have anything else to do and they get tired of just talking to people all the time. Hope this helps!
