Why do you think thr sitcom genre is dying?!
Question: I mean in the 90's the sitcoms topped the ratings with friends,seinfeld,cheers or even frasier...but now after friends ended,its all about reality shows and dramas the only comedy standing out is 2.5 men and its not even in the top10

well i think because there have been so many attempts at recreating the genius that was seinfeld and friends but they all failed and were not funny at all so people got sick of the same thing over and over and over again. i think that's why 2.5 men is the most succesful one now because it's not the "conventional" sitcom most people would expect (and it's not in the top ten because most people now watch "hit-shows" like lost, grey's anatomy etc.)
I think it is because people are being brainwashed into reality tv since it is cheaper to produce and people are so desperate for attention the producers can pay them very little and they will do anything they ask.
I love sitcoms but writers have gotten lazy and viewers are easily swayed. Sad isn't it that we have become so mindless we can't understand simple humor, we would rather watch trash.
No wonder we have to send all our jobs to places like China...we are that mindless now...sad sad sad.
