Question: I just discovered that James Zinkand (or "Crazy James") has appeared in gay pornographic videos prior to being in BB. I guess to each his own, but considering the possibly negative implications, why cast a porn star?

I doubt that CBS was aware of this. The porn videos themselves were only recently exposed and now the website responsible is promoting them. Hah they'll probably make a nice profit off this.
I'm guessing even if they had have known, they still would have let him in the house. Even Sheila has been in penthouse and appeared nude in various older movies.

It's called ratings, and things like controversy tend to send them soaring. For every one of you that is "turned-off" by it, there are 10 others that are intrigued.
Or, it could just be that mainstream media outlets are becoming less conservative, while the porn industry is becoming more mainstream. Things that were "risque" 10 years ago are now common place.
