Why don't meteorologist use a less conspicuous foot switch?!

Question: you know they always have the things in their hands, but wouldn't it look better if it was on the floor and out of site? this is something they could have done years ago, but just didn't for whatever reason, but i wonder why the hand switch is the norm. or why it couldn't even be timed better and handled by someone other than the actual presenter.

A foot switch is not mobile. There are weathermen who walk around the blue screen to point out different areas of interest. They would have to hop or stretch out weirdly to reach the foot switch.

And if you think the little hand-clicker is distracting, gestures to people off camera would only be more so. Having someone else run it would mean a lot of missed cues or screens switching before the meteorologist is ready to move on.

The meteorologist has to control the switch so he can time it with his delivery. If it were a foot switch, it would look like he was killing bugs every time he used it and people would notice the movement even if it were slight.

One thing about Chromokey screens, is that they are more green the blue, as for your foot switch, if they use that, they will be doing more dancing that talking about the weather, so the foot switch is a horrible idea.
