ANTM cycle 9 - Does anybody else gets totally mad when they re-watch this cycle?!
Question: Because it is so obvious Tyra rigged it for Saleisha to win. Every elimination, despite her awful pictures and fake sweetness, Saleisha was chosen 1st countless numbers of times. I especially hate the photoshoot where Tyra had the same hairstyle as Saleisha - it was then I knew that Saleisha was going to win no matter what. I so hate cycle 9. What are your thoughts??

yeah I completely agree this season could of been one of the best seasons ever if they had just ended it right
you could tell when it got to the final 6 when they were in China that was when things began to really seem like they were for Saleshia...
heres how the eliminations for the final 6 should of gone:
6th-Jennah - because of her attitude and her covergirl picture was awful
5th-Heather - bc she could'nt pass the go-sees challenge and her lack of personality in social scenarios
4th Bianca - bc she was'nt as strong as her competitors and I would not want my little sister looking up to her
3rd-Saleshia - bc her pictures were not as strong as the other girls in the competition and they should have been better with all her experience and her fakeness around authority figures and her final covergirl commercial was bad
2nd-Leisa - bc Chantal was a better model and Leisa is to sensitive for the modeling industry
1st-Chantal - bc she was the best in terms of charecter and still taking decent pictures and wanting this more than Leisa...
YESSSS! I completely agree. I just watched the cycle yesterday and I was sickened by how obvious it was that Tyra overlooked all Saleisha's obvious flaws. That haircut - it was SO BAD - that's why Cover Girl gave Saleisha a fresh new cut for her Cover Girl adds in between cycle 10. To me, it was clear from the beginning Saleisha would win it - Tyra made the decision early on and stuck to it. And that one picture when Saleisha is smiling big and her eyes are all squinty, Tyra refused to say a word badly about it. I was so angry. That whole cycle was awful, the worst of the series. That's when it became obvious that Tyra rigs it for certain girls she wants to win. Jenah said it best when she announced that it was a personality contest and nothing more.
To Pepper Avenged - cycle 9 has been over for 4 months, everybody knows Saleisha won. The current cycle is 10. Sheesh.
I so agree that Saleisha won only because Tyra insisted it. I think that's why Twiggy refused to come back for another cycle because all the girls she loved (Joanie, Melrose, Natasha, Chantal) got chosen for 2nd place.
I also think that Nigel has wayyy too much pull on who stays and who goes. He did not like Jenah so it was clear he was going to black ball her at every opportunity - even though she was clearly the best one of the entire cycle. Saleisha was fake and looked like a mushroom head - but I also noticed that towards the end of the competition, the photographers' and the Cover Girl people were extremely overly nice to Saleisha and treated the other girls with disdain. I think Tyra let them know Saleisha was winning it so they played their part to the hilt.
i wanted Heather to win dangit!!!!!!!!!!!!! or at least be in the top 2. I believe it was rigged b/c Tyra new Saleisha b4 hand. Read this...i got it from Wikipedia...
Since Stowers' win, there has been controversy regarding her eligibility to appear on the show. The show's rules state that a contestant must not have appeared as a model in a national advertising campaign during the last five years. Stowers appeared in a 2006 commercial for Wendy's.
There is debate among viewers of the show over whether the commercial for Wendy's could be considered an advertising campaign, which would make Stowers ineligible to compete in America's Next Top Model.
The CW said in a statement that Stowers did disclose her participation in the Wendy's spot, and "after reviewing the commercial, it was determined that her appearance did not amount to "modeling" experience, and therefore did not exclude her from participating in the show" although her modeling contract with Elite model management was shortened.
Several blogs and news outlets have speculated that her past relationship with Banks, her participation in Banks' T-Zone camp and her past appearances on Tyra's television shows and her appearance as a model on The Tyra Banks Show and Cycle 6 of America's Next Top Model, may have influenced the selection of the winner.
110% agree!! And I will say that Saleisha did take an occasionally mediocre picture - but certainly not anything that would warrant her the cycle winner. When Jaslene won, every picture in her portfolio was fierce - same goes for all previous cycle winners. Saleisha was the only one who got by on fake personality - and it was terrible. It wasn't right.
I watched Tyra's face during panel and whatever anyone said about Saleisha, she just smiled and usually didn't comment. Once they got overseas, she started raving that Saleisha was beginning to get edgy and she liked it. That was the clincher. It was a sad, pathetic cycle and I felt sorry for the other girls in it.
you are preaching to the choir on that one! i noticed mtv was airing antm cycle 9 yesterday and i couldn't watch it again!! i got so mad when it orginally aired because(like u said) tyra tottally rigged it. if she wanted to help saliesha make into modeling, that's fine-do it on her own time. don't try to fool the public by putting her on antm and make it SEEM she won fair and square!
i'm glad cycle 10 is looking tons better than cycle9. tyra couldn't afford having 2 bad cycles in a row!!
That was my least favorite cycle. Saleisha, with her mushroom hairdo, had no personality and did not deserve to win.
I never followed the whole cycle when it was on the CW, so I didn't really fall in love with any of them. My favorite was Jena, she's beautiful.
I thought it was funny how on the 1st episode, Saleisha tells Chantal that they will be the top two. And it did happen.
antm 9 was probaly the most boringggg season there ever was. ur right the show was fixed bc of tyra, i love that show but i cannot standdddddd TYRA. why does tyra always have to talk about herself, or take the pictures of herself for the photoshoot first, and constanlty try and be funny by trying to sing or trying to act or tryingg so hard to be funny. its a great show but shes so hard to put up with.
ps- anyone know why janice left the show?? i lovedddd her.. !
omg yesss!!! saleshia occasionaly took bad photos and was still chosen 1st alot i defintly think that Chantal should have won she would make a great cover girl also Saleshia's cover girl picture was not amazing i tottaly agree 100%
also i agree with james i think twiggy also left bescuase her favorites were constanly chosen 2nd when some deserved to wine such as(chantal && melrose)
I guess I am the minority on this one...I think the worst cycle ever was cycle 5 when Nicole won over Nik.....but as to Cycle 9, I think if Chantal didn't slipp at the finale fashion show that she would have won because I do agree that that hairdo on Saliesha was hideous.
i hate it to because already from the beginning at the audition saleshia said that she was in tyra's camp and she meet tyra before...and i just knew that she was going to win..

I hated #9 so much that I don't even watch the marathons of that cycle!! Saleisha did not deserve to win at all!! Even though Tyra has a panel of judges, let's be honest: Tyra is gonna pick whoever Tyra wants to pick!
Yes I thought that Heather should have went farther than she did also. Saleisha just looked so dead and lifeless in all her photo shoots!

Heather was my favorite. And I really liked Lisa. The rest of those hamsters were totally stank. And, as usual, not one of the Cycle 9 contestants could WALK.
And Saleisha (a.k.a Tootie Car Parts) didn't take one single decent picture. I stopped watching after Heather was eliminated.
I've been saying that Cycle 9 was the worst so cycle ever. Of course I said that about Cycles 7 and 8 too. But then again, Cycle 10 has some SERIOUS stank up in there, my favorite (Marvita) has already been sent home, and it's not even halfway over yet.
