From Carly to Claudia?! On General hospital how did the girl who played Carly fo!
Question: I used to watch General hospital everyday! I turned it on again after years of not being able to watch (cuz of work hours) And now there is not only a new Carly who looks nothing like the old Carly (played by Sarah Brown) But there is a new person in town! This new character is also played by Sarah Brown, but with much darker hair. What did I miss? Fill me in please, but only if you watch it all the time and really know what happened.

Sarah Brown left the show as Carly a while back. Laura Wright who use to play Cassie on GL now plays the role of Carly. Sarah Brown was brought back to play Claudia Zaccara.
Claudia is a mafia princess trying to get key waterfront property so she can run Port Charles in true Don fashion. Claudia is older sister to Johnny Zacarra who is acting Don over the Zacarra crime family because their father is currently in the looney bin. What Johnny and Claudia don't know is that Travis Lansing (Rick Lansing's dad and Zacarra family lawyer) is manipulating them and trying to get the property all to himself.
Claudia is a true meany! She also has her eyes set on Sonny! Sonny doesn't want anything to do with her.
On a personal note. I thought it wouldn't work with her playing a new character. But she's such a great actress. Claudia is definetly a character you'll love to hate.
The truth of the matter is that it is a Soap Opera and it is complete fantasy. Days of Our Lives has been rehiring actors in different parts for years now and it seems to work for them. It is hard to watch an actor who you were used to as one character come back and reprise another character cause you keep thinking of that person as the original character they played. I know it is confusing but give it a few months or years, you'll get it eventually.
Sarah Brown left the show some years ago. Since then, one actress has portrayed Carly and left for Days of our Lives and a third came on board. Then, when Sarah Brown's movie career wasn't picking up, GH contacted her for a new role, Claudia.
Sarah left the show years ago and did other stuff. She ran into someone from GH and talked about coming back one day. Figuring enough time had passed they gave her the role of Claudia.
As the others have mentioned Sarah Brown left GH over 6 yrs ago- she was on ATWT for a while and has done several primetime shows/movies
- The current 'carly' is the forth actress to play the role. Sarah brown dyed her hair a long time ago- i have seen it dark in several things since GH- it's not new.
Actors coming back to a soap to play a different character is not that uncommon- but usually they are a sibling or relative of their previous character- example tony geary ( luke on GH) played Luke's Cousin bill ekhart on GH for a couple of yrs while luke was gone.
Hey a job is a job for these daytime actors. It's not like Hollywood is calling any of them! But from what I here, Sara Brown's return hasn't been as popular as what the exes thought it would be!Bringing her back as a mob princess and a slut, hasn't gone over with many fans.
I watch all the time. When Sarah Brown left GH in the 90's, she was replaced by Tamara Braun, who did a wonderful job (and looks a tiny bit like Sarah Brown). Sarah Brown went to As the World Turns for awhile. Anyway, after years of playing Carly, Tamara Braun left the show a couple of years ago, and was replaced by a lady named Jennifer Bransford, who was HORRIBLE as Carly. She only lasted a few months. And then they replaced her with our current Carly, Laura Wright, who actually, is a lot like the Carly that Sarah Brown protrayed (Tamara's Carly was a little...softer). Sarah Brown was asked to come back to GH as a new character (as they have no intention of letting Laura Wright go) and that's where you get Claudia.
Sarah Brown left GH years ago and was replaced by Tamara Braun who was recently replaced by Laura Wright. Anyways, Sarah has now returned to GH as Claudia Zacchara and she's doing an amazing job.
