no I don't think he intended to kill Alex but he knew Rousseau and Carl would get attacked and that ensures he gets Alex back to himself
Have not watched it yet, will watch it tonight.

the island is mysterious so maybe it's some sort of fate thing that stops them from killing themselves

i actually have only watched the first episode from the first series and that's that
what i want to know is, why does michael all of a sudden care what happens to the others left on the island like jack?? he left the island and seems to have tried to get on with his life and did not try to help get the others rescued. so why when that man staying in the hotel calls him and says he can help them by killing all the people on the boat, does he do it??!! if he cared that much about them surviving then he would have done something about getting them rescued before wouldnt he??!!
and i dont think it was ben who shot his daughters mum and boyfriend - they just want you to think it was him!!
I don't think it was Ben. Probably the freighter people cuz when Alex said who she was they stopped shotting and will use her for bait to get Ben.
I think Michael really feels guilty about leaving them now and killing 2 people to get himself and Walt home. Now that he can't see Walt he has nothing left.
to answer sweetsha above me: micheal was torn apart about the murders he committed on the island, he was so distruaght over it that he even told walt about what he did, he couldn't take the pain of what he did anymore so he repeatedly tried to kill himself but the island would not let him. maybe you didn't hear the conversation between him and mr. friendly ( as he is called). ben told micheal why did you kill those two women? no one told you to do that?, so micheal is working for ben to try and redeem himself. he don't want to see anyone else get killed except for himself. he told sayid he was sent here to die. as for your question, it seemed like everyone who left the island ended up crazy or at the very least troubled in some way, and they all want to get back to the island with the exception of kate. yes the island seems to call to them, charlie appear to hurley and tell him to come back they need you there is still work to be done. and finally to WOW:3, congradulations on getting Lost!!!!
I'm really mad I really wish that I would have watched this show from the beginning now, I have never seen one episode
The best thing about it was my excitement. Then, when I realised we were 42 minutes in, I knew it was going to be a "nothing episode".
