For all the people who grew up in the 80's, what do you think of MTV now?!

I haven't watched it since I was like 14 (over 10 yrs ago). They don't show videos... its all these ridiculous reality shows with beautiful people causing drama. Bleh.

It's TRASH! In the 80's, it was non-stop music videos and it was the only program kids were glued to, including me. Now, it's everything BUT music video. They felt the need to add so much garbage to the station, it should now be called: WTV (WORTHLESS Television).
I did grow up in the 80's but im only 13 and i think MTV is awesome and yes they still show music videos and music, seriosuly do you people watch TRL? Or Sucker Free Sunday?

i remember . . march 31st, 1981 the day it came on the air. i even remember the first song/video . . . Video killed the Radio Star. since then . . i havn't watched it. slowly they stopped playing videos and started playing hip-hop, r&b and crappy reality shows . . .it sucks. truly.

I remember a time when the D.J's would give out little facts about the bands when the video was about to play.
And I remember when it was nothing but music videos.
And VH1 used to be the same way.
Anymore, I have deleted MTV from my viewing choice because I could care less about the shows that revolve around teenagers.

I am 25 years old and remember when MTV actually used to play music videos...they should change their name because they really don't play any music on there any more...even MTV and VH1 has been taken over by reality TV...thats pitiful if you ask me.
I didnt grow up in the 80s,but my parents said they watched it, or at least my mom,and she said that they played music vids NONSTOP.All they play now is Thats Amore,Rock Of Love,Tila Tequila,Next,Americas Next Top Model,Parental Control,Scott Baio os 46 and Pregnant,Flavor Of love...
The only good shows they have is Life Of Ryan,Rob & Big,and made...some people like the hills,but its not for me :D

The only time where they play vids is for like a hour on sunday morings,and then they play fractions of vids on TRL,and after shows just to fill in time they play music...Its sad,really.
Some of my friends arent even allowed to WATCH MTV because of some of the shows "Content" *coughs flava flav coughs tila tequila*
In fact SNL made fun of VH1 about the show Rock Of Love with Bret Micheals,and it was HILARIOUS!!!Cuz seriously,it IS the truth :D

sorry i dint grow up in the 80's but i was born in the 80's and since the generation changed so did the TV. if MTV had music videos allll day long id be bore to death, because people want to see fun TV and not music videos that you can watch anywhere else, reality TV is so fun to watch and MTV still puts music videos in the morning and on-line there is no need to have them all day long.

I stopped watching it in the late 90's when I was in college.
it used to be videos all the time now its just about an hour in the morning and then a few flashs of the top ten videos during trl with strings of reality shows throughout the rest of the day- i have to say i love it though because i love reality tv - i could definately do w.o so much back to back episodes of the same show they could mix it up sometimes but i like there night time shows-
What happened to the music videos???? I remember when I would sit and watch videos all day now it shows after show...
