Kaby--In season 2, someone discovered that DHARMA was making drops of food and toiletries on the island. (The packages all say "DHARMA" on the labels.) They found large crates in the middle of the jungle, Near enough to the crash site that they would get it, but far enough that nobody would ever see the vehicle (helicopter or plane or whatever) that dropped it. But they have been using that stuff.
Tiger--Ben's still alive because the writers know that the audience just loves to hate Ben! Let's face it, if they kill him, how many of us would still be watching!
If you need help understanding what's going on in season 4 so far, I'll try to help with my opinion of what is going on. Well, we all know of the Oceanic Six (Sayid, Jack, Kate, Aaron, Sun, and Hurley) and that they somehow escape the island alive --we just don't know how yet. We know that the people that came to the island on the helicopter aren't there to rescue the survivers of flight 815. They are really there to find and capture Ben for Desmond's girlfriend's father and once they do so they were ordered to kill all of the survivors on the island. Penny's father also staged a crash of flight 815 so that people would not search for the plane anymore because he knew it was on the island and he didn't want anyone else to know where it was. Menwhile, Desmond and Sayid have gone to the freightor and found Michael who goes by the alias Kevin Johnson. In a flashback we find out that Michael decided to go back to the island to save the other survivors because he feels guilty for killing Libby and Ana Lucia. Now most of the "flashbacks" are now "flashforwards" into the future of what happens to the Oceanic Six after they get off the island. Last week we found out that Jin didn't make it but Sun did have a baby girl once she was off the island. Also, in last week's episode Sun wanted to go to Locke's camp but Juliet told Jin that Sun cheated on him in order to get Sun to stay at the beach camp so that she would survive because pregnant women on the island always die.

I do. The people from the freighter are hired from Charles Widmore, Penny's dad. Michael is Ben's spy on the boat and is ordered to kill everyone on the boat. Only six people from the crash get off the island. Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sun, and Aaron. Aaron for some reason is with Kate and Jack doesn't want to see him. They have to tell a lie to the world about the crash. Jack and Hurley regret leaving the island and want to go back. Desmond had side effects from going to the freighter and was jumping from 1996 to 2004. He had to have something from both time periods and that was Penny. He is better now. A person from the freighter, Miles, said he will tell the people on the boat Ben is dead if he gives him 3.2 million dollars. There is much more I could say.
