american idol is a singing comepetition that is like every year. people all around usa goes for auditions. they choose th top 24, then each contestant have to sing each week according to the theme . they will all through elimination . the winner will get a record deal. but if they're lucky, some who dont win gets a contract. people like katherine mcphee , daughtry etc.. judges are randy jackson, paula abdul, simon cowell. simon is the strict one, who's words can be harsh but he's funny too. so thats a brief explanation
