I've heard that she doesn't speak to her parents because they wanted her to have a selective abortion for her second pregnancy...I'm not sure about his parents.
i've thought about this too. i think i've seen his parents once or twice at christmas or something. i've never seen her parents.

Yes, it is very strange but we did get to see them in the episode of the birthday party when the kids turned 3 & they had the carnival theme. Both Jon & Kate said that neither parents are in their daily lives. I have seen Kevin (Kate's brother) & Jon's brother was seen on a few episodes. I think it is really sad in regards to their parents though. Not my idea of what a family should be...
