i think its about time someone stands up to Victor. but as a parent, i realize it is disrepectful after all Victor gave him. BUT victor needs to realize he cannot own/control everyone so kudos to nick.
I think he is a combonation of both his parents. To me, Niki always had a sort of superiority, especially when she became a Newman! It may not be fair, but I guess I feel for him. Victor seems to be making Vic the new Newman air.
Victor is sabotaging Nick's future simply because Nick decided to side with his mother during his divorce. I have always loved Victor - however, it is time someone put him in his place. Victor is doing nothing to earn Nick's respect.
in my opinion, It's no that Nick thinks he knows best but he his sick of being in victors enormous shadow... and he needs some independence.... he needs to learn by his own mistakes not just follow orders... he is a lot like victor in that way.... victor would never let anyone tell him what to do..
IMHO, the thing about Nick is that he wants to be his "own man". Since he was responsible for sending Victor to jail (even tho it was comm service), the point is that as far as his dad was concerned it was a betrayal. Even though his dad put that behind him, Nick's action towards Victor has always been, "I'm a better man than you". Let's be honest here, is Nick without fault??, I say no and neither is his mother or his sister but they get a pass from him yet he always wants to be judgemental towards Victor.
I can't stand the way victor thinks he can bully everyone around. Its about time nick get out of the mustache's clutches.

I think Nick - just like any son - does not appreciate being treated in the manner that Victor has been treating him. It's not that he thinks he's always right and his father is always wrong ... it's just that problems and misunderstandings have been culminating between them for years and years, and it's bound to lead to confusion and hard feelings.
Victor is a bully, plain and simple. All of the Newmans have their faults ... but the man Nick has become has been influenced largely by the man that Victor is. Victor started it ... Nick is just reacting.
You need to respect your parents ... at the same time, your parents need to respect you. If your parents don't respect you, there's no way that you will respect them. You can't. The resentment is standing in the way.
I'm with you. I don't like the way Victor is doing but it is not Nick's place to tell his Dad anything like this. I am in my 50's and if I spoke to my Did like that I would be eating soup for the rest of my life, if you know what I mean.
Nick and Victor have always had a "hard" relationship.
Nick and Victor need to sit down and work things out.
