What power did Sylar originally have from the beginning in "Heroes"? A!
Question: I have either forgotten or didn't notice. You know how Claire has healing powers, Mark Parkman can read people's mind, Peter could fly etc. What power was Sylar born with though?

The producers call it Intuitive Aptitude - the ability to understand any complex system just by looking at it. There is obviously a second component of some sort that allows him to use that understanding to modify himself. They haven't stated exactly how he gains powers, but it appears that he is able to see how the brain is wired and somehow perceive the changes in DNA in people with abilities, and then change his own brain and DNA to mimic theirs.

His power was to be able to take someone elses power. That way when he first meant the Dr. they couldn't find an ability. He stole the list of people and started to steal their power.
Sylar's ability is that he is able to see how things work. He finally figured out that he can look into how people's brains work and when he does that he can kill them and steal their power. It's kind of weird and they don't show it too well- you just know that he can steal power mostly by killing.
Peter had that power to steal other people's powers without killing them. The only reason Peter could fly was because he came into contact with his brother who could fly.
I can't wait until this show comes back!
He sucked out other peoples powers I don't know if he had to kill them or not. I know he had a eye for detail but don't think that was a power.
He could figure out how anything worked (example: he was a clocksmith ((sp*)) and could figure out what was wrong with them)
