Season 4 is all about FLASHFORWARDS!
They're telling you that people have actually gotten off the island!
And Hurley is the third person we know who got off the island.
Last season, it ended with a flashforward too. Jack and Kate at the airport. And jack had said "We need to go back"
So we know that Kate, Jack and hurley have gotten off the island so far. Keep watching, and it will make more sense.
Also in the last season, remember that Niomi girl who parachuted onto the island. She has more people on a boat just off the island.
