What happened to Sitcom Theme songs?!
Question: there use to be classic theme songs like the jeffersons, happy days, threes company, facts of life, diff'rent strokes etc. why dont TV shows use theme songs anymore?

i know exactly what you mean! What happened to those songs where you could sing along? Where they showed clips from previous episodes while they displayed the cast's name and you'd say, "hey i remember that one!" Those were the days... Hey another classic theme! Now, what i heard once was because of the time limit shows are given, with all the commercials, or they want to fit in more material. No matter what the reason i still miss TV theme songs and wish they would come back, but hey we still got the classic ones like the ones you mentioned.
They still do, I just think the quality has gone down. One that's brand new that I really like is the one from 'Big Bang Theory.' It's got neat lyrics and is performed by Barenaked Ladies. It's hard to beat classics like the ones you mentioned before.
It just went out, shows dont want to waste that minute or two for a theme song when they can jump right into, it's like 80's movie music, you really dont see movies that have scenes based around a song that is playing, and that happens in pretty much every 80s movie, i think they just made scenes to fit 80's music in it
