What state do you think Mayfield was located in "Leave it to Beaver"?!
Question: I always thought it was in one of the midwest states, either Illinois, Idianna or Ohio.
After watching it today, though, The episode with "Aunt Matha" visiting when "Wally and Beaver" were dead set on going to a "Carnival" in Garden Grove"; which is in California. June also mentions "Aunt MArtha" had to come all the way from "Riverside" which is about 30 or 40 miles from "Garden Grove", makes me think it may actually have been located in California!
What is your opinion?

the "official" word is the state was never mentioned on the show. but most likely it was ohio. check out this interesting link on that...
