no! because only one person can win. it'll split them up plus the whole top chef usual drama
I don't think it really matters because they have to compete solo.
Maybe a little advantage - they will suffer less from missing family and loved ones ---they will be able to emotionally support each other.
Three cheers for Bravo---they have the two best reality shows

Early on I really don't think it will make any difference since they're both competing individually. However, toward the end when they do more team challenges they may have an advantage because they have already developed good communication skills (I assume). Anyway, they're probably used to cooking together, splitting tasks, etc.
