Kara Kent
Short summary
Kara Kent is Clark Kent's Kryptonian cousin. She is also Zor-El's daughter and Jor-El's niece, and part of the House of El.
Kara's sudden appearance in Smallville, explaining that she is Clark's cousin on his father's side, raised in Minnesota for the past 19 years until she was able to track down her one remaining blood relative. Kara lives on the Kent Farm with Clark and his girlfriend, Lana Lang. She is a waitress at the Talon coffee shop. Since Kara saved the life of Lex Luthor, he has become increasingly curious about Kara and keeps an eye on her.
She was very close to her Aunt Lara and fiercely loyal to her father, but admits to sneaking away from his watchful eye to have fun; on one particular occasion, this involved a journey to Earth. She is eager to learn, although often she would rather do things her own way than follow the directions of others - including her cousin, Clark. Kara has quickly embraced American popular culture, but still sometimes finds human customs strange. She is open-minded, assertive, outspoken, stubborn, has a strong sense of responsibility and duty, and is interested in understanding and helping people.
Since her amnesia, though, she seems to have lost her way. Disoriented and somewhat distrustful of Clark, she has turned to Lex for help. How this will affect her in the long term has yet to be seen.

She is Kara Zor-El. When she arrived on Earth, she was in cryogenic stasis until the dam broke in the Season 7 premiere. She was sent to Earth to look after her cousin Kal-El, who has aged to be older than her. She now lives on the farm as Kara Kent.
