Jin was in a flashBACK.
Sun was in a flashFORWARD.
Jin's flashback was only a couple of months after marrying Sun, so was working for her father.
Then the plane crashed. The cover-up story is that everyone died in the plane crash except the Oceanic Six (of which Sun is one).
Obviously Jin dies at some point between now and them getting off the island... How / When / Where / Why we don't know yet!
jin's hospital scene was a flashBACK. he was still working for sun's father in those scenes. i don't want to believe he's dead, but that last scene made me cry! they did show in the preview for next week that someone will die, so i wonder if it will be jin.

Well. What i got was that Jin isn't actually dead. and that like lockes father is just fake death.
I really think what happened was that when Jin came back from the island, suns father came and got him working for him again and that it wasn't a flashback.
But then Jin said hes only been married 2 months.. which MEGA confused me.
But why hurley was so close with sun i have no idea..
his grave stone gave a date of death as the plane crash but with all the twists this show has i wouldt ghive up on him being dead.

Jin's part of the episode was a flashback. Sun's was a flashforward. I'm pretty sure I know who the Oceanic 6 are. Clue: IT'S NOT AARON!! And Jin doesn't necessarily die. Some of the survivors were left on the island! The death date on Jin's tombstone was September 22, 2004.... DUN DUN DUN!!!
If Jin's not dead once they got off the Island maybe the same people who staged that flight wreckage are also responsible for yet another cover up? Don't see Hurley being close with Sun as unusual cos he's the nice guy in the show..
jins story was a flash back suns story was a flash forward both stories occurred at the same time to confuse us and catch us off guard ( it worked). jin is not really dead just a cover up someone is out to get the oceanic six. the death they promised would happen could have been that girl that threw herself into the ocean for no apparent reason.

I can't believe people didn't get it? It was so obvious, All the off island material with Jin was in the past, when he went to by the panda it was in the past, not for his baby but for and Ambassador's grandchild and he bought it as a gift from Mr. Paik (Sun's father who Jin worked for, and he was like a Korean mob boss). We found out that those were flashbacks because the nurse asked Jin why he was leaving his baby so soon and Jin replied that it wasn't his baby, and that he had only been married for 2 weeks. FLASHFORWARD TO SUN'S story off the island it was confirmed that she is a part of the Oceanic 6 who survived the plane crash by the nurse recognizing her and saying "Oceanic 6". After the baby was born Hurley and Sun go to see Jin at the cemetary. The tombstone says that the date of death is the same as the Oceanic 815 plane crash, which WE know he survived so there are two questions still unanswered 1. Did jin really die before they got off the island or 2. Is he still alive and one of the people Hurley and Jack are desperate to rescue in their Flash forwards? SO TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION WE DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO JIN YET, AND THE BABY BOY HE WENT TO SEE WAS IN THE PAST AND A JOB ASSIGNED TO HIM BY HIS EMPLOYER MR. PAIK
I personally think that Jin just did't make it off the island like the 'Oceanic Six' The whole grave thing was Sun's attempt at memorializing him since they are separated. I really also think that all the other survivors are still alive and stuck on the island for some reason. But without Sayid, Jack or even Kate's help, they seem screwed.

I have no clue what's going on this season, the programme seems to be going in a completely different direction. The episode with Juiliet's flashback (and Desmonds to somme degree) was a complete waste of time - two characters that I don't think many people are interested in so flashbacks were pointless and the episodes added nothing to the storyline. doubt I'll be watching for much longer, and it's a shame as I really loved this progrmamme
