Answers: I heard that david schwimmer quit the show...there is no way NBC would cancel their most succeful show

all the actors were tired of the show, they didn't want to continue with an eleventh season. It took a lot from NBC to get the cast to agree to a tenth season (their 9th season was originally supposed to be their last) so that loose ties could be wrapped up, so NBC pulled the plug their tenth season back in 2004. Ten years is a LONG time to be on a show. Yes it was successful, but lets face it - it's a very long time and no one wished to be type-casted. Everyone's gone on to do other things, Jennifer Anniston has gone on to several motion pictures, Courtney Cox has a show on USA, David Schwimmer did a few motion pictures but is now directing more than anything, "Phoebe" (sorry forget her name) does things here and there, motion pictures and television shoes, Matthew Perry, was a part of the successful studio 60 (it was cancelled unfortunately - something my husband and I are very upset about), I'm sure he'll find something else soon, and Mat LaBlanc had the show Joey which had a short run - successful in the beginning but jumped the shark quickly. I'm sure he'll find something else too - but haven't heard of anything. Like others here said, Friends was cancelled a while back - if you enjoy "Friends" you can purchase the show on DVD - my husband got the entire series on ten DVD discs (which we'll have to probably switch to Blu-ray lol). If you aren't going to switch to blu-ray soon, look on eBay for those selling their lower-definition DVD discs :) so you don't have to pay $40-80 a pop.

umm it was canceled like over a year ago where have you been

are you on crack or what....friends has been over for years...you are watching reruns and it wasn't canceled they just all decided the show had run it's course....remember the joey spinoff...how old are you?

It ended awhile ago, but it was because it was so popular that all the stars needed to get a lot of money and it was very expensive.

it wasn't cancelled. cause I mean, why would they cancel america's most popular show?? ......

Yes, for a while now.

lol i remember watching that show when i was a little kid. It's been cancelled for years. are you writing this question from 1998?

the guy who plays Chandler and Jennifer Anniston wanted to move on to movie careers ...David Scwimmer wanted to become a producer and director...the girl who played Phoebe also had a movie career ready and a cable show on deck...Joey wanted to get his shine on...the other chick moved on to her own show "Dirt"

It was a show that had been on for 10 seasons it was just time to end at that point. When a show runs that long the network has to eventually cancel it. Plus the actors wanted to move on to movies.

It wasn't exactly cancelled....the cast decided they were ready to leave the show.

No they all opted out they felt it was time to move on but there are reruns on everyday. So we can still watch our favorite "Friends". Even after all this time they still make me laugh.

No, they did not cancel the show. It was just time to move on. You can't just keep going on with a show no matter how good it was. I do miss it though.
