Lost fans...does this mean that Jin was the man in the Coffin?!

Question: If Jin dies after he gets off of the island, it would make sense that he was the one that was in the coffin during Jack's flash forward. But on the other hand, why was his funeral being held in the U.S. and why wouldn't Sun be there. I guess it isn't a very good theory then. This show confuses me to no end.

Jin might not be dead. They never said he was, and the date on his tombstone said the day he died was the date of the crash, but he was still alive on Christmas eve the same year. If he was dead, don't you think that Sun would have corrected the date on the tombstone. Also, on the opposite side of the tombstone there are other dates. I bet the other date or dates we were seeing are Sun's birth and possibly death dates. I think that tombstone was from when both of their families thought that they both died in the crash.

Jin might just be trapped on time warp island with the other losties.

I think it is someone else. Sun would have been there. Plus Jin didn't make it off the island. I think he is still there, even though his grave said he died the day of the crash.

ya..... i don't think it would've been him because of what you pointed out, that it's in the US and that sun would've been there

I don't think he is the person in the coffin.. What I do think is possible, is that it was a flash BACK when they showed him giving the Panda away. The rest have been mostly flash forwards. I think he may die trying to get Sun off the island. But I agree, this show is so confusing sometimes I think the writers are smokin the good stuff when they write it!

No, I don't believe Jin is the man in the coffin. His head stone read 09-22-04 the date of the crash. Jacks flashforward where he visits the dude in the coffin is on April 5, 2007. So presumably Jin never makes it off the island and initially "died" in the accident. The scenes with Jin are a flashback years before the plane crash.

i read that the person in the coffin is actually michael. and that lost is based on the game MYST. also you have to remember - 6 survivors of the plane crash are getting off, so people that were originally on the island don't count. so Juliet, ben and desmond may get off too. but i hope desmond gets back to penny because he's my favorite character.

The person in the coffin is Jo..... anthan or something like that you can check it out at Dark UFO

I agree with jeffrey M. when jack read the obituary on the airplane flight home in his flash forward (the first of many) it said in print Jo...athan hung himself in a hotel room. that's what we could make out on the wrinkled piece of paper jack was reading. supposedly this person had a connection to the island. and jack really wanted to get back to the island but didn't know how so going to this guys funeral was a way of connecting a little I guess. so look for some character who's name begin with j and ends with the letters athan. of course this could be a first name and last name. I read that we will find out the meaning behind the three toed statue soon.
