He had to leave because of a family emergency, which wasn't really explained in much detail.
But, then Joshuah got to pick between Sharon and her partner, (the first couple to be voted out, also the exes)
and he choose Sharon.
He was on BB9, on a Wednesday, soon after he left

Sorry, but i dont think anybody really knows. They just said "family emergancies" which probably means, someone in his family passed away, or is about to.
