Heroes season 2 is shorter than it was intended to be. Because of the writers' strike, season 2 ended a bit early and they rest of season 2 will join season 3. Because it will introduce a lot of new villains, season 3 of Heroes is "Villans"

loads on the writers have gone on strike for many of the programmes, lost being one of them :(
I think BBC 2 will show the 1st half of the 2nd serason (and all that's been filmed so far) in the summer. It is a complete story arc as the 2nd season was always in two distinct parts, but i don't think they are filming the 2nd story arc of that season coz of the writer's strike so after that it will be straight on with Season 3.
